MEDIATION FOR RESULTS
Professional mediation service for families in conflict
WHAT IS FAMILY MEDIATION?
Family mediation is a confidential process to help you resolve issues that arise following the breakdown of your relationship. During mediation the independent, professionally trained mediator assists you and your ex-partner work out an agreement about issues such as arrangements for children after your separation, maintenance payments and finances. The role of the mediator is to help you communicate and structure the process.

The first step in mediation is always an initial session attended by each person individually to discuss your current situation and give you information about the mediation process. After you have both attended your initial sessions we will schedule your joint sessions to work through your areas of conflict constructively.
Once you have come to a joint decision these arrangements can be made legally binding with an application to court. Other family members like grandparents or siblings can also participate in mediation.
Research shows that mediation improves the outcome for children. It supports parents to develop a good relationship after separation and reduces stress and conflict. It is also usually quicker and cheaper than going to court and helps couples to stay in control of the decisions.
